This morning I woke up at 7:00AM so I could be ready to ride with my escorts who were to arrive at my hotel around 8:00AM. We rode up A1A then entered to old St Augustine area. This is where we were greeted by bicyclists asking what was going on then about 7 of them asked if they could ride along with us for a while. Unfortunately, not everyone was as pleasant as our tag-along bikers. One lady in a large SUV tried to cut in between the leading officer and the van Glenda was driving…the problem being I was the one in the middle of them. I thought Kevin was going to jump out of his police cruiser while it was still rolling to let this moron have it. We also had several of the passers by honk unfriendly greetings to us. We passed by the fire station I used to work at and then we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch we headed into Jacksonville. I thought the afternoon was never going to end. I realize now haw nice it was having the police escorts. We arrived at the hotel around 8:00PM…making for a very long 12 ½ hour day.

Good morning Ken and Glenda, I am soooo wanting to be ion the trip with you,but the wheelchair i have belonged to my dad in-law and it needs tweaking cause the battery won't hold a charge on it.How sad for me!I am sorry i haven't texted you none since you started; i have had a heart wrenching 9 days.My beloved brother passed away to the Lord on April the 18th and then April the 25th my baby Buddy the dog passed to the Lord and my mind has been scrambled in 20 thousand parts.My brother had planned on going with me to pick ya'll up on the route and share driving time with me. I guess the Lord had other plans for him. He followed this from day one that it started forming. So as in memory to him i will arrive in Va.Beach, Va. on May 7th and meet my best friend who will drive me up to Washington to see everyone cause my driving is 30 minutes tops!!! It is really nice having a driver after driving all these years and doesn't bother me a bit except when i need to be somewhere in a split of the minute time frame!! Please be safe and try not to wave to hard at the finger wavers or grin to much at the donut munchers!!! Oh heck, go for it and do a couple for me just don't go and get yourself arrested cause that would be a bummer!!LOL! Ok God speed to you Glenda and the crew,Fondly,MelanieAKA TazzMel P.S.
